Independent UK casino comparison

UK casinos, graded on the terms that actually matter.

We compare a shortlist of UK-licensed brands the way a sceptical player would — starting with bonus types and wagering, then the games, apps and support sitting behind them.

Five things worth checking first

Most disappointment with a casino bonus comes down to a term someone skipped. These are the ones that change what an offer is actually worth.

  • The wagering multiple. A bonus with 35x wagering means you must stake the bonus 35 times before any of it converts to withdrawable cash. The lower the multiple, the closer the offer is to its face value.
  • What the wagering applies to. Some terms apply the multiple to the bonus only; others apply it to deposit plus bonus, which roughly doubles the playthrough you owe.
  • Game weighting. Slots usually count 100% toward wagering, while table games and live casino often count 10% or less — so clearing a bonus on roulette takes far longer than the number suggests.
  • Time limits and max bets. Bonuses commonly expire in 7 to 30 days and cap your stake per spin while wagering. Break the cap and the bonus can be voided.
  • Which product the offer covers. A casino bonus and a sportsbook bonus are separate things at most of the brands here. Opt into the one that matches how you actually play.

Five UK-licensed brands, side by side

Each one holds a UK Gambling Commission licence. The grade reflects how it performs across our criteria, with extra weight on how clearly its bonuses and wagering are handled.

Paddy Power

Trading since 1988
AGrade

Born from three Dublin betting shops in 1988 and now part of Flutter, Paddy Power runs one of the better-stocked casinos attached to a UK bookmaker. Its welcome offers lean on the casino side rather than the sportsbook, so read which product the bonus actually applies to before opting in.

Casumo

Launched 2012
AGrade

Casumo built its name on a gamified loyalty layer — you climb levels and collect trophies as you play — wrapped around a genuinely large slot library. Welcome offers usually pair a deposit match with bonus spins, and the ongoing Reel Races tournaments are where a lot of the real value sits once the sign-up offer is spent.

QuinnBet

Irish-run, value-led
CGrade

QuinnBet is best understood as a sportsbook brand with a casino attached rather than the other way round. Its calling card is the daily money-back style sports promotion; the casino library is more modest and built on aggregated content, so set expectations around game breadth rather than the headline welcome figure.

Lucky Vegas

Vegas-themed, slots-led
CGrade

Lucky Vegas keeps things simple: a Las Vegas-styled, slots-led casino that runs cleanly in the browser without pushing you toward a native app. Welcome offers typically take the bonus-spins-plus-match shape, and as always with spins, the per-spin value and the wagering on any winnings are the numbers that matter, not the headline spin count.

Midnite

UK startup, founded 2020
BGrade

Midnite is the youngest brand here, a UK startup that began with esports betting before adding a sportsbook and casino. The pull is the product itself — a fast, modern, mobile-first interface where bonus terms are laid out cleanly rather than hidden — which makes it an easy recommendation for players who value a sharp app over a long game list.

How the links work. When you visit an operator through a button above, we may earn a commission if you go on to sign up. It doesn't change the grade, the order or anything you pay — every brand here is judged on the same criteria. The tracking codes in our links are placeholders and won't register a live referral until real affiliate accounts replace them. Full detail on our affiliate disclosure page.

Direct match-ups on bonuses and fair play

Grades are useful, but most people are really deciding between two brands. These pairings put them against each other on the points that tend to swing it.

Paddy PowerVSCasumoBig-brand bonus vs ongoing value
  • Offer shapePaddy Power runs a deposit-linked casino bonus kept separate from its sportsbook promos. Casumo pairs a match with bonus spins on sign-up.
  • Wagering & fairnessBoth publish their playthrough terms up front. Casumo's edge is Reel Races — recurring slot tournaments that usually skip the heavy wagering a deposit bonus carries.
  • What you actually getPaddy Power gives you breadth and a unified app across sport and casino. Casumo gives a slots-led library plus a loyalty system with reasons to return.

Our take. Pick Paddy Power if you want one account for sport and casino with a familiar name behind it. Pick Casumo if slots are the point and you value ongoing tournaments over a one-off sign-up figure.

Lucky VegasVSMidniteTheme-led slots vs design-led product
  • Offer shapeLucky Vegas leans on bonus spins plus a match on featured slots. Midnite runs a cleaner deposit-linked offer with terms shown inside the app.
  • Wagering & fairnessWith Lucky Vegas the number to watch is the wagering on spin winnings. Midnite's modern build is its strength here — terms are stated plainly rather than buried.
  • What you actually getLucky Vegas is a tidy slots casino in the browser. Midnite is a polished, mobile-first app with a curated library and esports roots.

Our take. Lucky Vegas suits a player who just wants slots and a Vegas theme with no app to install. Midnite is the better all-round product if a sharp, clearly-explained experience matters more than library size.

QuinnBetVSPaddy PowerValue sportsbook vs full-scale casino
  • Offer shapeQuinnBet's best offers are bet-refund deals aimed at sports bettors; its casino bonus is lighter. Paddy Power's casino offer is a standalone deposit-linked bonus.
  • Wagering & fairnessBoth apply standard wagering to casino bonuses. QuinnBet's value is clearest on the sports side, so casino-only players get less from it.
  • What you actually getQuinnBet pairs a value-led sportsbook with a modest, aggregated casino. Paddy Power brings a far larger game library and branded live tables.

Our take. QuinnBet makes sense if sports betting is your main activity and casino is occasional. If the games come first, Paddy Power is the stronger casino by a clear margin.

What the grades are built on

We score each operator A to D on eight things we can actually check: its UK Gambling Commission licence, the size and spread of the game library, the live-casino offering, the mobile app, the game studios it carries, the type of welcome offer, the support channels, and how usable the whole thing is day to day.

Because this site's focus is bonus types and fair wagering, the offer and its terms carry more weight than they might on a site built around game count. A brand that explains its wagering plainly will grade better than one with a bigger headline number buried under heavier conditions.

Luck Case Fileis independent and funded by affiliate commissions. We don't take payment for a better grade or a higher spot, and nothing on this site is supplied or approved by the operators. When we're not certain of a specific detail, we describe it in general terms rather than inventing a figure. The full method, including what each grade band means, is on the licensing and safety page and across our individual reviews.

Myth, fact and the practical bits

The myth

“A bigger welcome bonus always means more money in your pocket.”

The reality

A £200 bonus at 50x wagering is harder to turn into cash than a £50 bonus at 20x. The headline figure tells you almost nothing until you read the multiple, the game weighting and the time limit alongside it.

Are all the casinos on this site legal in the UK?

Yes. Every brand we list holds a licence from the UK Gambling Commission, which is the only way an operator can legally offer casino games to people in Britain. You can confirm any licence yourself by searching the operator's name on the Commission's public register.

What is GamStop, and does it cover these operators?

GamStop is the free national self-exclusion scheme. Once you register, every UK-licensed operator — including all five here — is required to block you from gambling for the period you choose, from six months up to five years. It's the single most effective tool if you want to take a proper break.

How often is this comparison updated?

We re-check offers, apps and game libraries roughly once a month, and the “last updated” date shows when the page last changed. Operators adjust their bonuses regularly, so always read the current terms on the operator's own site before you opt in — that version is the one that counts.

Luck Case Fileis an independent comparison resource for over-18s in the United Kingdom. We are not a gambling operator, not a regulator, and not owned by any listed brand; we don't run games or handle money. Welcome offers and terms change often and are shown for information — the operator's own site is always the definitive source. 18+ · T&Cs apply · Please gamble responsibly.
